Screener accreditation
CW-ASC accredits aviation, air cargo, and maritime screeners under the Department of Home Affairs Critical Infrastructure Security Centre Screener Accreditation Scheme. We have carried out this work for Australian regulated air cargo agents, screening providers, and operators since the scheme commenced, and our Accreditors have industry experience along with CISC Accreditor qualifications
Why use an external accreditor?
While some organisations choose to conduct their screener accreditations in-house, for most this is an expensive and time-consuming option, as it takes staff out of operations and places additional burdens on their time.
Placing supervisors or trainers in charge of determining whether their staff or trainees meet CISC requirements can lead to conflict-of-interest issues, and a tendency for in-house accreditors to bias towards confirming skills rather than providing an independent assessment
At a time of high staff attrition rates, imposing an additional KPI on supervisors or trainers may exacerbate staff turnover, meaning time and money invested training in-house Accreditors may be continually lost and need to be replaced, meaning more training costs and lost productive hours.
Arranged around your operation
Screening doesn't stop for accreditation, so accreditation is arranged around your operations. We work to your rosters and schedules, coordinate with your security manager, and carry the administration burden including scheduling, records, and reporting.
Our Accreditors are based in four capitals, meaning most sites are reached without the cost of bringing someone across the country.

A single accreditation, or the full year
Some clients ask us in for a single accreditation, while others place the annual requirement with us and we plan it together. This planned approach limits operational impact as accreditations can be scheduled around operational peaks.

Where accreditation can lead
Accreditation is often the first work we do for an organisation. It puts us on the floor of the operation, as an independent third party who is seeing the operations regularly and over time. The conversations that follow are about the things the operation already knows are difficult: a security programme that no longer describes how the screening process actually works, a screening process slower than it needs to be, or training that ticks a box without adding value.
There’s no obligation in any of that. But if an accreditation identifies a larger regulatory compliance issue, it's usually worth a conversation.
